Tried ICS but got error mssgs. I also tried to bridge the wireless network connection 2 and Local Area Connection. I also tried it with 1394 connection. too. I'm using the Sierra Wireless Compass 597 USB card. I also tried sharing CDMA with wireless connection 2, nothing. Tried sharing CDMA with LAN but that didn't work either. When I do connect through the sprint smart view , CDMA is always showing connected never the 3G. When it seems I have a shared connection between LAN and CDMA I connect the ethernet cord the Sprint SmartView disconnects for some reason.
Here's my network connection layout.

That many connections is confusing me, I can't imagine how confusing it is to XP. I don't know which connection the PS3 is using, the firewire? I shared my PS2 by using a cat 5 crossover ethernet cable, and sharing the connection, the CDMA in your case, that was getting the internet. Does the PS3 do wireless? You could put your wi-fi card in ad-hoc mode and share with it. That would be another option. I don't own a PS3, so I don't know what kind of connection ports it has on it. |

Well I was in ur shoes several months ago. I spent probably roughly 24 hours trying to make this work, and finaly found a solution to the problem.
I can't remember exactly what I did. but this will give ya a clue on how to set it up.
1. You can not bridge the connection to wifi, you can only bridge it to LAN.
2. Make sure you are using a cross over cable, not a standard eithernet cable.
3. There is a setting somewhere in Smartview I had to turn off. This setting is what is preventing you from being able to bridge or connect the evdo to lan. And have the connection available at the PS3. I may have even had to do something in microsofts connection manager to get this to work properly.
a. I guess I should have written a thread on it when I got this to work. Becuase I did not find much helpful information on the internet on how to make this work. I just worked on it fevereshly with trial and error.
4. I have since purchased this device to make a wireless network using evdo to wifi router, it has a lan port that I run to my PS3. Becuase the latency is too high over the wifi connection! This device would make ur life alot easier if you have the cash laying around. This device will give you you 16 wifi access points through wifi or 1 lan to your evdo card! Now you have your own little network. They also make battery packs you can use to power it for a completly moile network. The great thing was this device worked right out of the box. I think this is the neatest thing since sliced bread, well maybe not quite that much but it's pretty cool. If you buy it from the 3gstore, they have a how too, on how to configure it for your ps3/xbox/wii.

Lastly I would try to recreate this network connection to my PS3, but I am sitting in a hotel with a broken ankle. So I do not have my sprint card with me to recreate this network. I looked through my sprint software settings and could not see what I turned off. But this is your main problem! Good luck!

Hmmm.....well if you ever do figure out what you did, post it here. I had no problem using ICS with my old Pantech PX-500 card, but now since having a new hd with a new sprint software and card I haven't been able to figure this out. I can't find any kind of Ad-Hoc mode either. |

You can save a lot of headaches and just do what many have done in your situation
Buy a router to work with your card, plus you also get the exclusive evdo gaming guide from the 3gstore.

I simply don't have that kind of money for those kinds of routers. Maybe it does make it easier but I need a cheap solution hopefully with what I've got already. |

| I finally figured out how to get a connection to my ps3. I just had to go to hardware under the Compass 597 card settings and select "allow simultaneous connections" box and everything worked. Only problem I have now is occasionally I can't get the ps3 to connect or get an IP address, it just times out after a 20 secs or so. I'm using an ethernet cable from my laptop to the ps3 using ICS. |

| I do this with my 360 and Windows did this and sometime wouldn't work. I had to STATIC my 360 settings. You Ethernet connection that you are sharing has a ip address and subnet mask that you need to look at. Then set the ps3 to an ip address on the subnet (for me the ehternet was 192.168.0.1. So I made it 192.168.0.100, just make the last one different.), set the subnet mask the same, and finally put the sprint dns servers in. Bingo, connects each time and does this perfect with a macbook. Hopefully I made since. If all else fails a time when you connect fine, go to you settings in the ps3 on the ethernet and write them down and then set them to that permanently. |
