I am using a kr1 wired to wrt54g. I have decent speeds and connect to internet good, BUT I find myself having to reboot my wrt54g a couple time per day when I can't access internet. I do not have a network, so just using the 2nd router to connect wireless to a laptop. I'm shooting in the dark here, but guessing i dont have a setting correct as i pretty much hooked the wrt54g up out of the box with a brief setup and it has worked. I am not losing connection at the kr1 as i can see all is well and my desktop is hardwired to it and still connects so this should be a wifi problem.DHCP is enabled on both routers, addresses are different, wireless is disabled on the kr1. Any ideas what I need to change? _________________ Go Dolphins |

Try turning off DHCP on the Linksys. You have a double NAT. _________________ evdo-tips.com |

First determine what your WEP (security) code is on the router, if any. Next, go into the Wii Options and then Management. Click on internet settings and try to find the internet. You may need to enter the WEP code if your system is secure. _________________ evdo-tips.com |

The 2 routers need to be connected LAN to LAN. Is that how you are connected?

My nintendo wii would connect using the wep key I configured before turning off the dhcp on the linksys. Now that dhcp is off on the linksys router the nintendo WII will not connect. As for the wiring question. I have a wire running from port 1 of the kr1 to the "internet" port of the linksys. Is this what ya mean for LAN to LAN between routers? Currently both of my laptops connect wifi just fine , not the wii for some reason. If I turn dhcp back to enable, my WII works again _________________ Go Dolphins |

You are running 2 networks, dual NATing as another said. Turn off DHCP on the Linksys. Connect the ethernet cable between the numbered ports of both routers, not Internet or WAN.

I had my CTR350 hooked up to my old Linksys WRT54G according to the 3GStore Tip Sheet and was having to re-boot both the 350 and WRT at least once a day.
I finally got rid of the WRT54G and replaced it with a TrendNet TEW-637AP Wireless N access point. Has worked flawlessly for over a week now. Only drawback is I no longer have wired LAN ports so I had to get a wireless adapter for my PC - the only thing I had wired to the WRT.
Bottom line - it may just be that the WRT54G doesn't work well when used in this fashion....

Well, I have success so far! Laptops are connecting (wifi) ,desktop working (wired) and the nintendo WII (wifi) is working as well. Thanks for the help all. Looks like Moving my wire to port 1 on the linksys was the trick, just had to reboot the routers after doing so and now all is good. i will monitor for a few days and let yall know if i still have the wrt54g disconnecting on me, so far so good. _________________ Go Dolphins |
