|

Hey there,
Cruising around with my PPC-6700 streaming my favorite internet radio stations from www.somafm.com I have found good EV-DO coverage in Snoqualmie and North Bend, Washington. Starting at the hill up from I-90 on Snoqualmie Parkway and following the parkway to 202 and into North Bend, not a bit of dropped coverage. Signal strength varies from -84db to -98db. Oddly, I-90 between Hwy 18 exit and 202 exit has only 1xRTT. I fortunately have coverage at my home in Wilderness Rim at the base of Rattlesnake mountain where there is evidently a Sprint tower on top. I hope that this coverage grows some but I am quite satisfied to see it where I live. Now if they could just get it all along I-90 to Seattle, I'd be set!
Cheers!

Hey folks,
I have noticed recently that the EVDO coverage I was experiencing in my home at the base of Rattlesnake mountain has changed. I am only getting 1X now. When I run the FieldTrial application on my PPC-6700 I am getting a signal strength of -106-110 dbm for HDR(EVDO). I believe I read somewhere that the cutoff for enought signal was around -110 dbm so hmmmm.... Is it possible Sprint dialed the signal back some? Why would they do that? I am a bit bummed as I hoped to eventually by a PCMCIA card or one of the Kyocera routers and run my home network off EVDO. Looks like that will have to wait!! The tower is on Rattlesnake Mountain, I feel like hiking up there and taking a look at it myself
Anyone else notice their coverage suddenly change?

Yo Dubhead,
I'm out here in Bonney Lake. Saw some evdo action off and on for a while ( right before you reported North bend anq Snoqualmie live. ) The service was so sporadic and nothing was moving in either modes. (kbs) I did'nt bother calling it live service.
I reported in another post that we had service , but that was short lived . after that I found evdo off and on, more off than on. When I goe to the field diagnostics screen, I see 1 amp set up or undefined. Just before I logged on to this forum I did notice a few changes in readings ( or headings ?) Uati code is now in place and my signal strength is up -3 db. Oh and I've been experiencing faster 1xrtt speeds ( 55kbs up to 100) I didn't expect the speeds those numbers represent. Keep our fingers crossed , it may be here for real , soon.
