Yes, I noticed this as well on a recent trace route I ran "64.sub-66-174-176.myvzw.com". This is another loop that will cause some latency but still much better then EVDO.
Also I just tried to switch to Mobile IP Only and oddly was able to connect. I am not sure if this will change anything in it but I am hoping it will get past the 12 hour disconnect which I noticed is still in effect on Verizon towers. |

Mobile ip preferred and only both work for me, if I didn't say that before. I don't know what the difference is between them but whatever it works right?
Now if I could get 3-4 bars instead of 2-3 I bet it would improve my speeds even more. |

Unfortunately I still get the 12 hour disconnect with it going to Verizon but now I took off my timer on my KR2 since at first it didn't know how to respond to the disconnect but now it will reconnect the UM150 just fine now as looking in the logs. |

Yea, woke up this morning and noticed the timer had been restart so it did disconnect at 12 hours but still rev-a is a big improvement.
I also noticed my speeds don't change much. On my older Alltel EVDO tower they would really change depending on tower usage but on this new Verizon one I did some speedtests at 4 AM yesterday and very little difference then at noon. |

Yes, seems as if Corolada is a little slow on their updating. I remember my QL showed 40042 before I updated to Verizon. I wonder if they pushed a new PRL for Alltel subscribers to use Verizon towers, anyone know? |

Wow, tried it this morning and so far I am very impressed with Verizon. With Alltel I was struggling to get above 500k. Now...well...I'm very happy.

| 40042 is for divested areas and 40043 is for non-divested areas. That is the difference. Neither is a conversion over to Verizon prls to use their towers. We are still waiting for Verizon to bring us Alltel people over to their network. Unless you do the prl swap like I have done and roam on Verizon for now. |

No, that is incorrect. The typical speed test is measured in kilobits where a IE/Firefox download is normally in kilobytes.
Dial-up at 56kbps (kilobits) is roughly a 7 kB/s download
500 kbps (kilobits) is about 62.5 kB/s download
I usually do all my converts using Google's build in calculator.

Well I tried this too and got it to work no problem....
Unfortunatley I was only able to pick up a 1Xrtt signal (using both a directional and nondirectional antenna).
I guess when if finally warms up here in Michigan a little bit I will try and go on the roof and move the antenna around a but and see if I can pick up a better Verizon signal. |
