I'm suppose to receive a Cradlepoint MBR 1000 & LG Dare tomorrow. I assume the router directions will be self explanatory but not sure on the LG Dare.

Can anyone tell me the steps for configuring the Dare so the MBR 1000 will see it as amodem?

Thanks
Terry

no configuration on my LG Dare was needed.
just make sure you have "data feature" turned on for your Dare.
that allows you to tether a computer (or router) to your Dare.

if that feature is on, when you connect Dare to router, the router will make the Dare connect to verizon network, and your Dare's screen should look like it does in photo below:

Alex

Just wanted to let you know that the LG Dare & Cradlepoint MBR1000 install went smoothly.. It took just under 1 hr.... including upgrading the router to the latest software. LG Dare didn't require any programming & worked 1st time it was plugged in. Your included instructions were excellant.

Jayson,

As long as the phone has Rev-A (see this thread for more info on the available rev-a phones), you should get the same speeds by tethering it as you would with a dedicated EVDO modem Smile

Yes, you have to pay for the data service on each individual device (just like if you had two cell phones: you still have to pay for service on each of them to use them). Verizon charges $15/month to add the tethering feature to a PDA and $59.99/month to add it on a regular phone (including the Dare), but you don't have to pay for it every month. You can add and remove the feature as you need.
