|
|
CradlePoint has released Firmware Version 2.3 that provides official device support for:In addition to new device support, a key new feature was added that allows device activation and PRL updates from router admin -- that means that customers with feature-compatible devices may never need to use their carrier connection software again!
This new firmware also adds feature that allows OpenDNS server functionality while using a device for the Sprint EVDO network.
Other Japanese market devices and additional information about this firmware release can be found in the official Cradlepoint release notes PDF for firmware 2.3
PLEASE NOTE: Upgrading to this firmware release will cause a factory reset from previous firmware. Please be sure to save your configuration settings (Tools -> Admin menu) before loading this firmware and then restore your configuration afterwards.
For those ordering the CTR350 or PHS300 from http://3Gstore.com, starting 01/29/09, we will automatically include a CD that has the latest firmware.
You can download the latest cradlepoint firmware at:

Works fine here. No problems. OpenDNS is a nice addition. _________________ evdo-tips.com |

| Alex, I think you made a small mistake, it is the Alltel EC228, not the AT&T EC228. |

I note with this version that the Statistics are erased when you shut down the router. Who do I contact to see if we can get this fixed so that it does not starall over until you erase.
Thanks |

|
|
I've loaded the new firmware for my PHS300, but I'm still having trouble making it work with my Blackberry Storm. Has anyone gotten that working? If so, how should the PHS300 be configured to work with it?
Thanks in advance for any guidance!

| Does the new Firmware version 2.3 support use of the ethernet port for LAN use, or is that only available with earlier Firmware versions? |

Yes. That's what I use on my CTR350. |

| Cradlepoint has told me they cannot get it to work (PHS300) with my Verizon BB Curve 8330 because of a phone device software issue. 4.5 Asked me if I could go to a previous version of BB device software. Isn't that what they're supposed to do? Whatever..... What a shame......sending it back to 3gstore. Not impressed with cradlepoint at all. |

Did you by chance remind CradlePoint that OS v4.5 is the current baseline for the 8330 for both Sprint and Verizon? BTW, my VZW 8830 with OS v4.5 works fine with the the CTR350, which uses the same firmware family as the PHS300. |

| I did. The tech didn't seem like he wanted to help He was constantly "checking with the engineers" Over an hour and they ask me 1 question and did no trouble shooting other than reset. Very disappointed |

|
|
Today, I "upgraded" from my Sprint 8830 world phone to the BB 8330 curve running OS 4.5.0.131. My world phone was running OS4.2 and worked great with my CTR-350 (FW 2.1 and 2.3) the first time I plugged it in and every time since.
I held out on getting the curve until the CTR-350 would work with it (I know the firmware was updated in January, but why rush?) Well now I have a shiny new BB Curve and I cannot get it work work with my router.
Has anyone ever successfully had these two devices work together? If so what did you do to fix it? Michael and Alex, when you are in Vegas this week please ask the Cradlepoint guys about this. I need a resolution before my 30 day return option expires with Sprint.
Thank you in advance for any and all help.

That is funny, the CTR350 says it will work with the Sprint 8330. I am thinking about ditching Verizon and getting 3 off the 8330s through Sprint. I need the one I use to be able give signal to my CTR-350 and my PHS300.
I hope you get this going, I am thinking of ordering the phones Wednesday.
