Erratic Speeds

I have been running a PC5750 in a KR2 for months now with almost no problems. Suddenly, in the last three days, my speeds have become erratic, going from Rev A speeds to 1x and back and forth constantly. It makes the system almost unusable for my wife who teaches online classes. Any suggestions? I am located near Greenville, NC.

Not much you can do. I've had the same experience several times over the last 2 months - good speeds, stable, etc - then suddenly, barely faster than dialup, disconnects 10 times/hour, etc etc. Made several calls to tech support, made some changes. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. It will stop after a few days and become stable again. THen just as you think you are OK, it will happen again. I know WHY it's happening - Alltel is changing the way logins occur based on if you have a CARD or are using a tethered phone (like me). But in the process, it's messing up logins. In my case, I was on the system, but not completely logged in, so I was bouncing around towers, trying to connect. It finally stopped after the last few calls, but who knows for how long.

It's happening everywhere, all over the U.S. with Alltel. I don't know if it's changes to prepare for Verizon, or what. But it sure is annoying.

I'm in Mt. Ulla, NC - 40miles north of Charlotte.

Same thing in Michigan mine has been crap since 1-11-09.with brief times of it working normal.Altough the last two nites seem to been better.Everything i have read on this forum and other ones is that it seems to be something to do with the verizon alltel merger.I have giving up on calling tech support and have finnaly decided to just ride it out.

I have been having the same issues, but it appears to only happen at night say from 6pm to midnight. I've called tech support and complained about the tower I am on but they say that they are within acceptable limits. I assume it is other users on the tower watching viedos etc, but don't have anyway to confirm my suspicion.
