go to the bottom of the alltel column and download 40042. Save it someplace easy to find.
http://www.corolada.com/prl/

1 ) Download 40042 from http://www.corolada.com/prl/
2 ) Open Quicklink Mobile (Axcess)
3 ) Disconnect or if you already are. Don't connect.
4 ) Press Ctrl+D
5 ) Type 000000 (6 zeros)
6 ) Click the Actionaction Code box
7 ) Type 000000 (6 zeros)
8 ) Click the [...] box at the end of PRL:
9 ) Find the 40042 PRL you just downloaded
10 ) Click Open
11 ) Click OK
12 ) Let it activate then connect! DONE!

This will update your wireless card.

When I follow this procedure, the activation fails.

I don't have an activation code for that box. Is that something I need to get from Alltel, or is it needed at all?

Thanks for your help!

did you type 6 zeros in the activation code box? doing that step should do it for you. also make sure you're off line. if i missed your point let me know.

Thanks, Ken !

The 6- 0's got me past that one, and I connectusing 40042, but can't go to any internet site. I was on 40036 before.

I tried the newer 5xxxxxx Verizon one just for grins and it didn't work either.

I found out the other day that my MIN was wrong. Originally, it was the same as the phone number, but apparently that changed because of the merger. The CSR gave me a different MIN to use, and it works OK.

I'm still playing with it, so maybe I can figure something out. If I can learn anything interesting, I'll post it.

I'm in rural NE Texas, so maybe someday we'll get rev A, but I'm not holding my breath. Sad

How would you go about updating the prl if you aren't using the QuickLink Mobile software. I have my Huweii EC228 connected to a KR2 EVDO router. Is there another procedure for updating the prl through that method?

No, for a router your gonna have to plug your EVDO modem into your computer and use that software to update it.
