My Powerbook got dropped from a fine connection this morning at 10:50 AM local time. Can't reconnect with Novatel s620. "Connect script failed." Sprint customer service said that this was happening to a lot of people due to the national rollout tomorrow and "something they did to the network." He passed me on to their EVDO folks who said that nothing happened on the newtwork and that this wasn't happening to a lot of people. They were surprised that I was using a Mac and tried to help, but all their diagnostics rely on the connection manager software running on a PC. They tried to send signals to my card, but there was no visible change to the card and nothing worked. They recommended that I go to a Sprint store and have the card re-provisioned.
Any of this ring a bell with anybody else? My EVDO's been great for weeks. |

| Tested exhaustively with Sprint and an XP laptop tonight. They think the card's funky. I'm to swap for a new one at a Sprint store tomorrow. Then I have to steal another PC laptop to activate the new card. |

Hello John,
If you don't have a PC to borrow, and since you got the Sprint EVDO card from us, if you want to pay for shipping both ways, we can activate it for you, just an option. It would be a lot quicker (and no shipping charges), to activate it closer to you. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| Thanks. I've been imposing on a neighbor's son, borrowing his laptop every time I need to deal with Sprint. Hopefully one more imposition won't break the camel's back. If it does strain the bonds of neighborliness too far, I'll let you know and we can set something up. |

| Today the same card works fine. I think that Sprint had a network outage in Reno that they weren't aware of, or some kind of glitch in my account got fixed during my marathon tech support session last night, and the change took a while to propagate. |
