|
|
| I am an expat living in Mexico and use Telcel's 3G service that they call Banda Ancha. It works great; mid 300kps up and 1000+ down. I am trying to find out if there are any modems that are compatible with it. This is a new service for Telcel so they don't offer much help. The modem is marked ZTE Modem MF622. Any input would be warmly welcomed. thanks. |

| I googled it and quite a bit of stuff came up. If you believe what you read, the ZTE MF622 is an HSDPA USB modem, apparently provided by the British 3G cellular network operator named "3", and maybe other carriers as well. There are comparisons to other devices, including those from Huawei. There may be references to your carrier, but I didn't look for them. |

| Take a look at the website for your carrier (www.telcel.com) -- they show 3G cards from Huawei, Sony-Ericsson, and ZTE. Looks like about 9 cards to choose from, including your MF622. |

| telcel works off of GSM technology in my opinion it barfs, try iusacell they run off of PCS/CDMA you can expect faster speeds, and more stable internet experience. |

I am also an American living in Mexico and have the TelCel 3G with a ZTE 622 modem. I am trying to find a router that has Ethernet that and will work with this 3G.
IUSACell doesn't have signals in as many places as TelCel so I don't know why it is better. The signal might be up to your standards but if one cannot get the signal, who cares? TelCel has HSDPA/WCDMA/GSM/GPRS/EDGE so I don't know what you are describing.
Anyone know of a router that works with a ZTE 622 modem and TelCel? |
