broke 595u what are my options

I am new here so forgive the lack of knowledge. I have a 595u that the usb part got bent. Service center told me 150 to repair it. I still have about 15 months left on my 2 year contract I signed up for the unlimited nation wide plan and as I understand it that is not avaible any more what are my options for replacing this air card realtively cheap. I looked at the ones on the 3gstore but so you have to sign up for a new contract to get 1 and if i do that wont i loose my plan and have to pay the 200 to get out of my contract early. Any help is appreciated. thnks to all

Your only real options are:

(1) - Pay to fix the 595u
(2) - Buy a refurbished EVDO card, and have sprint do an ESN swap..

or, you could try your luck at like Ebay... but be sure to ask the seller for the ESN # and call sprint to verify it is not a stolen card. (because if it is, they will not activate it again)

Good luck... Also might want to see about getting the equipment protection plan from Sprint.

Sorry to hear about that... that's a drag Sad

If you want to hang on to your plan - and since you are not subject to overage charges like the rest of us, you should! - you will have to purchase a card outright and do an ESN swap. This does NOT alter your contract, it just swaps the service from your old card to a new card.

Buying a card without an upgrade or new contract discount can be pretty expensive, unfortunately. However, 3GStore does have some refurbished cards available that are a little more affordable. They have all been tested and you can purchase them outright and not alter your contract. Check them out here:

If you are a Sprint Premier customer, you may be eligible to upgrade to a new card at 12 months instead of 24. Log in to sprint.com and see if the banner shows you as a Premier customer. Otherwise, shop eBay and make sure the seller has 100% positive feedback; plus ask if they will share the ESN after you've paid and be sure to ask if the ESN is clear to activate (getting it in an email shows intent to defraud if you need to pursue the case). Lastly, pay through paypal with a credit card.

just a short note. a couple of folks have already made it clear that if you get a used/refurb replacement, to make sure the "ESN is clean".
