I am sorry if this has been posted anywhere.
Has anyone have experiences with this device? We just got this device to test and I am just curious about the PROs and CONs?
Thanks. |

Hi Wildfox,
The Saga is a new phone, and we're pretty excited about it. Since it's Rev-A and can be used as a modem, it's a great option for people looking for a tether-capable phone! We're hoping that it will prove to be compatible with the Cradlepoint routers, and we'll have an update on that soon.
We'd love to hear your thoughts about it so far - what do you think? |

I used to have the Treo 700w and then the Treo 750w, before I moved to the BlackJack 2. I had experienced a lot of the problems with the Treos, and was glad to move away from them and to the Windows SmartPhone version. The Samsung SAGA reminds me of the TREOs, in good way and bad.
PROs:
- The navigation unit can be configured as the 4-WAY NAVIGATION UNIT or a MOUSE, and as a mouse it works really well for me and I enjoy using it a lot. But the 4-way Navigation Unit is too sensitive and I would rather have a click-wheel like the BJ2 has.
- Windows Mobile is improved on this device and has many more customizations now
-GOODlink works on this device
CONs:
- it is just like using the TREO 750W, and seems to suffer the same performance issues as well and it has refresh problems also
- Opera browser ... it is hard to zoom in and out of a web page and not as user-friendly as I would hope
- it does not connect to our corporate Cisco WLAN
- The EMAIL or MESSAGE button does not bring up GOODLink Email after GoodLink installation, and there is no way to reprogram that button under Settings.
Call quality is fine, and I don't think it would be that much different from a TREO 750, but I do notice that it responds slower than my BJ2 after I hang up and try to return to the home screen.
I did not try Tethering, though my BJ2 is hacked and I can tether with that and get average 800k or 600k while on a call.
I lost interest in testing this unit after I was reminded how much I dislike my Treo 700 and 750 due to its performance and stability issues. |
