|
|
Wassup guys, my 595u had a hardware failure and sprint gave me the Compass 597 in return. Xbox live worked great with the 595u but i cant get it to connect using the Compass 597. My set up is ethernet from pc to xbox ICS enabled. It connected with no problems using the 595u but i cant get the xbox to obtain an iP Address with the new 597.
Anyone know the fix to this? Help is appreciated |

| Call xbox live, 1-800-4myxbox. They will tell you to do something that will reset all of your connection settings. It should automatically detect your IP address after that. I had that same problem when I switched from my 595 to my 727. |

They told me to call Sprint and get my ip address, subnet mask and all that stuff.
The xbox is actually picking up an ip address which is 169.254.201.59 and a subnet mask which is 255.255.0.0 but once i test the connection it says cant obtain an ip address from the router or modem. |

| You know what it took me hours to fix this problem, but once I finally figured it out, I got sick of messing with ics and bought a router. |
