| Anyone else having issues trying to update the MBR-1000 to the 1.4.2 firmware? I keep getting an error. Invalid firmware upgrade image uploaded - discarding it. |

No one has reported issues with the most recent firmware release as far as I know. Suggest you reset your MBR1000. Save your current router configuration first! Download the "MBR1000" firmware again from Cradlepoint's support page so you can be pretty sure the file is right. Maybe the other you used got corrupted when you downloaded it last time. Be sure you are downloading the file meant for the MBR1000 and not the one for the CTR 500 router. Use an Ethernet cable and not WiFi when you do the firmware update.. Let us know here how you do.

How do I factory reset a router?
Factory resetting a router will erase all of the settings on your router and return them to the values that were set by the factory. Note that this will any changes you may have made to your router.
1. Ensure the router is powered off.
2. Press and hold the reset button.
3. Continuing to hold the reset button, plug the device into a power source.
4. Release the reset button when the lights flash (Approximately 5 - 10 seconds).
5. The router will restart and be available on the default settings SSID. |

| Any word from CradlePoint as to when to expect Storm support for other routers (e.g., the CTR350 or CBA250)? |

OK, I ordered an MBR-1000 and updated the firmware to 1.4.2. It is setup and working as wifi access point with hardwired ethernet. When I plug in my Blackberry Storm nothing happens other than the Storm going to clock mode and starting to charge. The Storm is working fine tethered to my mac via bluetooth and usb. There is no request for password. I tried entering the Storm password into the usb sections of the cradlepoint modem config web interface.
I can't find any documentation on how to set this up on the Cradlepoint website |

I use the CTR-350 to connect to my VZW BlackBerry 8830, which is also passworded -- hopefully, you can apply what I have learned to the MBR-1000 and the Storm. There are two distinct passwords that need to be configured in the router (assuming, of course, you are on VZW):
1) the PPP username and password: Username is "(10-digit mobile phone number)@vzw3g.com", and password is "vzw", which should be similar to what you configured on the Mac.
2) the modem password: This is the BlackBerry device password -- this might be under a separate modem tab, depending on how the web interface for the MBR-1000 is presented. Hope this helps... |

| I tried the passwords as you indicated - it doesn't help. The problem seems to be it doesn't even recognize anything is attached - nothing appears in modem info. I did have device password under modem/setting tab and vzw stuff in basic/wan??? |

You are correct with device password under Modem tab and "VZW stuff" under Basic/WAN. Some things to try:
1) Did you disconnect the Ethernet WAN connection (the RJ45 port takes precedence over the USB port)?
2) Once the Ethernet port was disconnected, did you try rebooting the router with the USB port connected to the Storm?
3) Did you try rebooting the Storm (pull battery -- I don't know if there is a "keyboard" sequence to initiate a reboot on the Storm as there is on the 8830). I had times in early versions of the CTR350 firmware where the USB interface on the BlackBerry would essentially lock up, requiring a reboot -- that has since been resolved. |

I pulled the battery, connect the Storm to router, and rebooted the router. No change still no recognition anything is attached - no entry in WAN interfaces table
PS do I need an ATDT#777 in the modem script |

| I did not need to enter #777 anywhere in the CTR-350 config pages. You might want to call th3 3Gstore tech support as I may be missing something obvious... |

a) do you have password enabled on your Storm?
b) have disabling the password on the Storm as opposed to putting the password in the router setup? |

| I do have the password enabled on the Storm - I can't disable it as the security polices we have through BES require it - can't be turned off. I suspect it may be the problem that the password dialog is not working because I have noticed after a have plugged in the Storm that although there is no visible acknowledgement on the MBR-1000 that it is there if the Storm goes to locked (which it does after 15 minutes) and I unlock it it shows some unsuccessful password attempts - this doesn't seem to be completely reproducible so I am not certain |

| You need to disable the password prompt on the storm if you want this to work. |

| I suspect many blackberry users have password protection enforced by security policy - since it works with non Storm models I hope it can be fixed for the Storm. |
