I've gotten this several times since updating to 1.4, could be coincidence. I'll be connected and all of a sudden I get the error "The CradlePoint MBR-1000 could not find an attached WAN device."
A reboot fixes it temporarily , It was necessary to reboot several times within a few minutes last night, since then its been 19 hours or so.
I'm using an EX720 with Sprint.
Thanks |

I believe I am experiencing a similar issue with my 1.4 and my MBR1000. I turn on the laptop and in the morning and I have local and no "Local and Internet". The "MDM" led on the MBR1000 is out. Rebooting the laptop does not help. I have found that removing and inserting the express card back into the router gets me the "Local and Internet". Below is the nights log from last nights occurrence........
NOTE.. during the night I did not physically pull out the express card.
signal strength is very good here always 4 bars.

When I experience this I get an error like this when opening a webpage
I've also noticed that the WAN IP address doesn't change always after a reboot. If I do a manual disconnect/reconnect and get a new WAN IP the problem hasn't reproduced itself. |

| I'm having the exact same problem when I use my MBR1000 with my Speedstream DSL modem. Back to Firmware 1.2 ...again. |

Is this for sure a Cradlepoint/firmware issue? The reason I ask is because I was getting this same message freqently (at least 3x day) before I upgraded to 1.4.2 firmware. Before, I was running 1.0.
At first I was thinking it was my DSL carrier (TDS) or the modem but now I'm not sure. I was running 1.0 on my MBR-1000 and I started getting that same message - unable to connect to WAN. I would have to reboot modem and router to get it to work again. I thought upgrading to 1.4.2 might help so I did that. Well, I'm still have the same problem. Now I wonder if it's my modem or DSL service. |

I've done some more testing and it seems that it IS the Cradlepoint mbr-1000 router. I connected directly to my DSL modem with an ethernet cable and I'm having no issues. As soon as I put the router in the mix, I get the "can't connect to WAN" error message.
I'm going to try 1.2 and see what happens. If that doesn't solve it, I will try a factory reset. If still problems, I will be on the phone with support first thing Friday morning. |

| I tried 1.4.2 and got the "NO ATTACHED WAN DEVICE" message again. Rather than go back to firmware 1.2, I tired one more thing. I've been using PPPoE on the DSL modem (Speedstream 4100) because earlier MBR100 firmware versions had trouble connecting to the DSL modem due to IP address conflicts (both default to 192.168.0.1). So I switched it to PPPoE on the MBR1000 (i.e. I configured the MBR1000 to login and initiate the PPPoE rather than have the DSL modem handle it). So far so good, I haven't had any random disconnects or error messages. |

What card are you using? What firmware on the Cradlepoint are you using? There were known disconnect issues with the 720, 727, 740 Verizion cards on Cradlepoint 1.4.0. 1.4.2 resolves those issues. |

I'll have to check the card when I get home, but I think I have firmware 1.4.0. Where do I download the 1.4.2 version? _________________ John H Boyd |

Can you tell me exactly where this setting is in the mbr-1000 settings? I can't locate it and I want to try what you did to see if it works better. Thanks. |

| In the MBR1000 configuration page, go to Basic -> WAN -> Internet Connection -> PPPoE, then on the section below enter your DSL login and password. You also need to access your DSL modem's own configuration page and switch it to PPPoE on router (instead of PPPoE on modem). Keep in mind that your router and modem may already be set up this way. I only tried PPPoE on modem previously because earlier firmwares had issues with IP conflicts (both modem and router default to 192.168.0.1). If you have this issue, try changing your router to 192.168.1.1 first. |

Okay, I'll give this a try although I have no idea what my DSL login and password are.
I do know that my modem and router are sharing the same IP - 192.168.0.1 just like you mentioned. If I type that address in, I go right to my modem settings and not the router. |
