okay, i've got a um150, verizon card... i used to get good speeds, always in the 900-1500kbps range... now... for a couple months now i've been getting worse, and as time goes by it goes from getting about 200kbps for 15 minutes a day to almost all day, and i can hold 600kbps for like... 20 seconds then it randomly drops to nothing...

here is my speedtest (note: this is off the reccomended server, which is actually seveal states away as speedtest.net seems to think i'm in washington not north dakota)

and here is the one that actually reflects the closest server to me which is around 200-300 miles i believe

alot of difference in that.. and they were done one after the other, twice, to make sure it wasn't a fluke...

and it seems like almost any website i go to gets UNDER 300kbps, wheras i used to never have this issue... i've stopped using the vzw access mananager as the other day it stoped working... i would start to load a page and about 2 minutes in of being connected it would drop to nothing...

if anyone has any ideas let me know... is this just perhaps becasue my signal is worse than it once was (i moved and this house has aluminum siding and metal roof) i am using an external antenna by a window... i may mount it outside to see if it helps... i'm just looking for some input, sorry this is so long..

oh yeah... forgot.. it also seems that my average while browsing seems to fluxuate between 10 and 100 kbps... only time it's faster is when i'm downloading (about 400kbs at best) and youtube/streaming audio/video (about 250kbps)

It is possible that your um150 is bad. I had the same problem and took the card to the Verizon Store and sure nuff it was the card. They replaced it with the 727 and I haven't had a problem since.

that may create an issue for me...

for 1 i do not go directly through verizon, but rather a verizon partnership... thus i can co contract free with it... kinda nice... not that i have any other options anyway lmao...

2 even if i did go through verizon... the closest verizon store is 200miles away or so...

well... i'm moving my pc into my office today... and with that will be running the antenna outside mounted 2 feet from the house on a round metal plate... i'll see if i get anything better when i do that..

i just think it's so weird that just that single server gets good speed... and no where else in the world does the connection not fail... but i was thinking it could be the modem... i'm not a huge fan of the um150... i've also had problems with it unistalling itself... in which case i have to unplug it, and plug it back in, then run the vzaccess wizard... probably the card... just my luck eh Razz
