I'm wondering if there is an AT Command that will set the Active Cell Tower. At my current location I receive 2 relatively equal PN signals, and my internet connection disconnects each time my EVDO modem switches between the two cell towers. A friend mentioned that there might be an AT command I can give my CDU-680 device that would force it to use a certain Cell Tower. Does anyone know what this command is?

I have a very similar problem, but a different device. I don't know about AT commands, but it should be possible to do this by editing the PRL. Unfortunately, unlike the basic CDMA entries in my PRL, the EVDO/HDR entries are quite cryptic. I'm still trying to figure out how the HDR Channel and HDR PN Offset are defined by the PRL. Thanks to the help of others in this forum, I think that the combination of those two parameters can be used to distinguish between the individual transceivers.

Its either a firmware edit..(the PN selection is automatic in firmware) [maybe someday-put a blacklist/reject to a specific tower?] or you have to buy a directional antenna or use tin can or aluminum foil to direct your signal to the tower you want.

Aha, so that's why I couldn't find the PN in the PRL file. Checked card firmware, and sure enough I do see the particular PN, followed by some blank/zero entries. I assume that's the list of all the allowed EVDO PNs, so that might also explain why I'm getting an authentication failure on a different PN. I wonder what would happen if I add the different PN to that list.
