Huawei EC228

Hey I'm new here and to the whole EVDO thing. But this is my problem. I am with Alltel in Ohio. I have the Huawei EC228 for the last 40 days now and the first 30days I got great connection with 4bars never dropping the signal and really good speed. But around day 35 the signal started to go from no bars to 4 bars to 2 bars to 4 bars to no signal and you get the picture. Then wen I manage to get connected it is either really weak and slow or disconnects every 5minutes or so. I contacted Alltel support with no help so I was praying that someone on here could help me get a better and more consistant signal. Also if it makes a difference I'm trying to use this on a MacBook.

P.S. I did look and try the suggestions in the post a few topics down.

Is this the same time the prl update came out?

Reverting back to the previous prl may improve things. You may have to watch for "automatic push" of the newer prl.

Just a thought.

Did you ever drop it , maybe the inner antenna didn't contact the board well.

You may use an external antenna to see whether it can improve the signal intensity and stability.

If not,update the card's software may be a good idea.
