We are currently in an area where we are just on the fringe of EV. I think the router is having problems trying to keep the EV connection and would like to force it to the slower speed.

What EVDO device are you using with the KR2?

Your best bet is adding an external antenna to get a stronger signal.

We are using a Verzon USB 720 with an external Wilson Trucker antenna. Also, I upgraded the firmware on the KR2 to version 3 (reluctant to go to version 4 after reading some of the posts).

On our Verizon phones I can see the flipping back and forth. What seems to be happening with the data card is that when loading a web page, it will hang for quite a while, then load all at once. Standard ping rates seem to good, in the 250ms range and less than 1% are dropped.

Thank you for your help,

Michael
