I live in a very rural area up in the adirondack mountains/upstate new york.
For 8 years I have wanted some form of broadband for my home here and have not been able to get any service of any kind, whether it be ISDN, DSL, Fixed Wi-Fi, or Cable.
I found that Sprint had a signal in town, so I thought I would try it out. It turns out I was running on 1xrtt speeds. (144kbps down, 100kbps up, 1300ms latency).
I terminated my account with Sprint immidiatly and found that I was easily in range of the Verizon broadband network. I've tried it out and the service so far is amazing.
The cradlepoint ctr-350 works wonderfully and was extremely easy to set up, (less than 10 minutes?) even though I had a bit of trouble getting used to the configuration at first.
I have already Voice Chatted and used Youtube and am at about 150MB for my first day (in about 6 hours of internet time, and that includes 2 other people browsing as well).
With a 200ms latency, I'll finally be able to try out Xbox Live.
Thanks 3gstore! |

| Is this tower one of those "Frankenpines" or towers disguised as giant pine trees in the Adirondacks? |

It's a tower disguised as a giant pine tree I'm pretty sure, actually.
If sprint ever does set up another tower in my area, though, I would probably switch to their service. Until that time comes, I'm with a stricter network. |
