Sprint EVDO devices are now available with Static IP address through 3Gstore.com

Do you need a new Sprint EVDO device with static IP address?
The EVDO Experts at 3Gstore can make it happen!

Effective immediately all new orders for a Sprint EVDO device (like the free U727) from 3Gstore.com, can have a static IP address enabled.

The added cost for the static IP is only $3/month! Instead of $59.99/month, you'll be paying $62.99 per line of service with static IP option enabled.

This option is available for business and consumer accounts. In the past, this option was not commonly available to any Sprint customers, and on Verizon, it came with a hefty $500 fee per account.

If you're an existing Sprint business account customer who got your service through 3Gstore, we will be happy to enable the static IP option on your line of service. Just send an email to sales@ 3gstore.com with your name and the phone number of the EVDO device you want the static IP enabled on. We can look up your existing account information and take care of that for you.

Not sure what a static IP address is, or if you need one?

One situation where this has come in VERY handy, is for those that run into problems sending email when they are sending email while using a mobile broadband card. Many email servers are "locked down", to prevent spammers from using them to send spam. Now, that I have a static IP Address on my Sprint card, I can add the IP Address to my mail server as an "OK" address to accept email and I never have to worry about switching mail servers or changing settings so that I can send email when on the road - very handy.

I signed up for the dedicated ip address today, and noticed something weird. I am located near Sacramento, California. Normally I can get high download and upload speeds from my location using Sprint EVDO rev A . My dedicated ip address says Burbank, CA which is 350 miles to the Southeast. I am getting terrible speeds of 35 kbps UP and a piddly 130 kbps DOWN via the speedtest.net I have never had this lousy performance. The Speedtest.net indicates that I am located in Iowa 2,000 miles to the East. I have ping times in the hundreds of milliseconds while I am supposedly on the EVDO rev A network. I am glad I am not trying to retrieve email, snail mail is faster. Is it the Novatel USb 720 device, or the Sprint dedicated ip?? Not good.

I would be interested in figuring out why you are getting low speeds using static ip.

send me a private message giving me your ip address, or open a ticket with Sprint customer Care.

thanks

This message board refuses to allow me to send you a private response as you requested. Once they give me permission, I will send you a private response. I have only been a customer since March 2007. I tried to open a ticket with Sprint but that is a LOST cause. The "technician" at Tier 2 Tech support told me my "USB modem needed a new phone". Okay if you know what they are talking about let me know. A new 2 year Sprint subscription to the SIMPLY NOTHING plan will solve all of my data card problems??? BTW I have a LIMITED so-called "unlimited plan", which charges me EXTRA for email, and there better not be any audio or its $1/minute---look on page 126 of the TERMS of SERVICE.

Hello, One thing I have noticed lately with my sprint evdo service is that the POP (point of presence) that I connect to varies widely. I live in northern Los Angeles County, I used to get connected to a pop in burbank, CA or San Gabriel, CA. Lately I have been connected to a pop in Chicago, Il quite frequently, or livermore, CA which is up north. Needless to say when I connect to the Chicago pop I have really high latency. Is this an indication that Sprint's network is oversubscribed? Would getting a static IP lock me on to a particular pop?

Thank you!!
