|
|
I have a new USB727 from verizon and Im installing on a macbook pro with 10.5.5 leopard. When I run the VZAccess Manager (after installing the SW) and I try and detect the device it says "No Wireless Device Was Found"
If I go to system-network and try to add the device manually no interface shows up for the Novatel Wireless CDMA.
When I go to About This mac - the device shows up as a USB device.
I can take the same card and put in my macbook running 10.5.5 and it works perfectly.
I saw some threads about removing the WWAN support update 1 - but I never installed that (its for 10.4.8 I think) and when I tried to install it, it said it wasnt valid
I have tried multiple USB ports
I ran system update to make sure I had the latest OS.
Any help would be appreciated. |

I'm having the exact same problem on a 2nd generation MacBook Pro.
This Novatel USB727 card *was* working fine for me under Leopard.
Then I had to reinstall Leopard, and now when I try to run VZAccess it immediately returns the message "No wireless device was found."
I tried both USB ports, even though it was working fine in the left port originally. Then I confirmed the card was fine by installing it on another MacBook Pro, a 1st gen running Tiger 10.4.5.
On the Macbook it won't install on, it does appear under USB in system profiler, but not under network. And it is not available as a network interface under System Preferences > Network.
I did an Erase and Install of Leopard and the 727 still won't install. Now I'm really flummoxed.
I am using rEFIt, however I can't see why would interfere with EVDO...? |

I am using the USB727 on the latest MacBook Pro on both the MacOS and XP Pro (Bootcamp) without any problems.
When is there ever enough bandwidth but I'm impressed enough to follow the stock and look forward to the Ovation release. |
