I am a victim of Hurricane Katrina and have no broadband internet access at home and it may be a few months before i can get dsl or cable access. I have a Verizon LG VX4400 cell phone and want to know is i can use this as a modem to get a dial up connection with my ISP Earthlink.
I have a USB cable to my phone but can find no drivers.
Help please.

Data is typically expensive. You need to enable the PC connection and get a Mac data cable (google for your phone model and "data cable"). Normally these are used to upload/download the phone info (contacts, wallpaper, etc, google for "bitpim" which is an opensource (free) application that does this and they point to some cables).

It will work with EVDO if you have it, but technically you aren't supposed to (the T&C) unless maybe you buy a data plan. OTOH you can get broadband speeds over wireless.
