I've bought two different kind of adapters for the 720, both fit, one is slightly longer than the other. I notice my signal strength goes from 70-90db(normal range for me) down to 40-50. However, my connection doesn't get faster or go from 1xrtt to evdo speed like I've read from others. Using the 3watt wilson amp. I've tried this on several locations around the country.

Do I really need a 727 only wilson adapter to make this work? I thought because the signal strength improved, the adapter was working.

What part number did you purchase?

If your RF adapter was not purchased from the 3Gstore or wpsantennas.com you likely have the incorrect adapter.

If you purchased the Wilson 359921 you may have damaged your device.

The only RF adapter that works will "snap" in to place when connected.

You can also try setting your modem to EVDO only. Your modem will pick up the strongest signal by instructing your modem to pick up EVDO only this will eliminate you picking up 1XRTT (the slower signal)

I don't have the part #'s offhand. I bought them at various truckstops, Wilson brand adapters. I ordered the 727 part from 3gstore, thx. I figured that my signal strength improved, and it fit, etc.

And thx for the evdo only setting.
