Hi all,

My laptop (HP CTO DV2200) only has ExpressCard/54 slot. In order to use Verizon, please recommend some cards to me.

Also, can I buy cards from other retailers instead of Verizon?

Thanks!

You can buy a card at Verizon and then play "phone tag" and "hit and miss" if you have any problems. However, if you just jump over to http://3gstore.com/ you can purchase the card, service, etc. and get instant phone (and e-mail) support! Just give them a call and they will recommend and support (after the sale). I don't work for 3GStore but have experienced fantastic support whenever I have had a problem.

I am not sure if you can use an Alltel card and activate on Verizon, where VA recently bought Alltel. There was a recent post here that said you can't activate a Sprint card on a Verizon account. One option you now have is to pick up a used PCMCIA or express card on Ebay or Craigslist and take advantage of the Verizon's new no contract option.

the Kyocera KPC680 expresscard and the USB727 USB modem are both free after mail in rebates, on 2yr plan:

Most express cards in 34 format will also work in a 54 slot. Your laptop doesn't have a USB slot?

there are no expresscard/54 3g cards. all are 34mm, and work by inserting along left side of 54mm slot. thats how they are designed to work.
