just wanted to post about my results with my new grid antenna ...still have the wilson amp and u720 but swapped the trucker antenna for the hyperlink 24dbi grid antenna and have been seeing great results....downloads used to be around 300 to 500kbs and up was around 50 to 100 kbs....this antenna has gotten me 5 bars and a signal of -81dbi used to be around -102.... but i get anywhere from 800 to 1250 down and 150 to 350 up now....just for those of you that may consider one there worth it.....

| scapla....I have it on my garage on a 10' mast that I built out of a ridged peice of metal conduit.... the antenna is shipped with a short pigtale with an n female connector...I run that into a n male 400 series low loss cable that is 20 feet long to an adapter that is an n female to fme connector to convert it down to the wilson amp input side...I then run out of the wilson amp with low loss cable to my usb u720 modemn and have that plugged into my ctr 300 router and then a 100 foot ethernet cable that I made to my desktop....and with the router I can also give my wife and two kids all access to there own computers....if you have any other questions feel free to ask .... also today I am dloading around 1200 kbs and uploading around 300 so its a bit better.... |

Jayson, that's awesome! Nice work. Glad you have come up with a solution to improve your signal. No doubt others here will be interested in replicating what you've done. If you ever have an inclination to put together a pictorial I'm sure it would be appreciated. |

scapla...I may try to do so in the very near future....this grid antenna is by far the best solution I have found...I am not even in the coverage area
....I am about a mile outside the maped area....and not to metion I live in the woods and in a valley ....no line of sight to the tower and still having great speeds...it has taken me a while to get this figured out but it has been worth every penny I have spent.....I will get the pics posted soon and Im sure it will help alot of folks out with questions as far as if they can get a useable signal and good speeds.... |
