access the diagnostic mode of the VZAccess Manager software by pressing CTRL-D and entering the password diagvzw. You need to be disconnected to enter areas that are grayed out. Look for the setting that enables HDR Only mode and enable it. _________________ evdo-tips.com |

Hey Jim,
This should be a sticky since the question gets asked almost weekly and people don't bother to search for answers before they post.
(I too am guilty before I got use to forums) |

so true davester ...think I'll make a a wordpad doc that I just copy/paste ... ...no problem radioguy, there is a lot of info to cull out there. It doesn't bother me to repeat something as long as it helps. _________________ evdo-tips.com |

Will this setting be maintained by the PC5750 when it is removed from the PC running VZAccess Manager and inserted into my router?

Yes it will, the setting is saved to the card...so it will still be in effect when in router use. |

Thanks guys - this piece of info has just saved the last few hairs remaining on my head. Now always connected on Broadband.
I have been going mad trying to figure out how a boosted external antenna could not stay on broadband and kept hopping over to national access all day even though I was getting signal strength in the 50-60db range!!!
I just went and bought a 15db directional antenna rather than my 9 db omni to try to fix this.
I guess I can just hook em both up now for an even stronger signal? |

Directional for a fixed location when you know where the tower is - Omni for mobile when you don't know where the tower is. They both have their benefits _________________ evdo-tips.com |

| How do I do this on a Mac? I don't see the HDR option anywhere in the options. |

You need to be on a Windows enabled PC to lock the card. After its locked you'll be able to use it in HDR mode only on your Mac. |
