Does anyone know how to do this with the Dell Mobile Broadband Card Utility? This is used for embedded evdo cards on Dell notebooks.

Thanks

How do I do this on a Mac? I don't see the HDR option anywhere in the options.

You need to be on a Windows enabled PC to lock the card. After its locked you'll be able to use it in HDR mode only on your Mac.

That statement is partly true, if you are running Windows under VMWare or Bootcamp, you can change the settings on the card.

When I do the Ctrl-D it doesn't give me an option to set it to EVDO only. I'm using the Pantech 175 with Vz Wireless Access Manager (most recent).

I also tried it with Alltel's Quicklink Mobile with no luck as well.

Win Vista 64bit operating system.

I just changed my USB760 to HDR only...its done exactly like post #2 says to do it.

Thanks for the tip...mine kept switching back and forth between NationalAccess and NationalAccess (RevA)...not anymore, its all NationalAccess (RevA)

btt! Thanks, again -- you have saved the day. My connection with the omni antenna that I just purchased kept flip-flopping to the 1xRTT connection -- Now that I locked in HDR mode it stays on the evdo connection. You guys really do have the best customer support. Thanks!

my verizon usb 727 doesn't give me that option. says create qnc and has a box beside it I can checkmark. then it adds another connection on the manager that says "quick 2 net 14.4 kb/s"

Same here. On the Verizon Access Manager, there is no option that I can see after executing the above steps.

Can anyone confirm that the LG Dare or LG Versa can perfom this lock-on via following the instructions given in this thread?

I'm a verizon user looking for the best Rev-A regular phone for tethering that can perform this lock-on, and it seems that these two are good options, I'm open to other suggestions as well.
