Ok, I had a few minutes to kill today and I was near a Cricket store. Couldn't resist.

I goes in. Smile I am looking at the brochure for their wireless modem trying to see if there is any interesting TOS type stuff on it (no, by the way). One of the guys comes up to help me so I ask him if Cricket is capping... he says "Yes, you're limited to 5,000 gigs per month."

LOL

I kindly say "You don't know what a gig is, do you?" (more giggling to myself)

Then he goes on to say at least Cricket isn't as bad as Verizon and Sprint because if you go over, you don't get billed for the "extra minutes". LOL!

I gave up.

Another manager guy that I like came out and we had a relatively intelligent conversation about things. I just explained to him that I wanted to see what my options were if I get booted from Sprint.

He says that by the instruction he's gotten so far on the product, that he doesn't believe that Cricket has a way to measure your service during the month - and that if you do go over by too much, Cricket is just making phone calls to those customers to have them try and back off a little. He hadn't heard of anyone being shut down or throttled back - at least yet.

The story kinda sounds alot like what is really going on with Sprint, doncha think? (like nobody is getting shut off - and we're just getting these "educational" phone calls)

you could probably confuse him even more if you said "gigabits or gigabytes?"

Cricket uses the same network as Sprint does. Their signage warns about going over 5GB.
