I sometimes answer calls from my neighbors to help out with EVDO stuff.
One of them, recently told me that they found a place that sold EVDO cards for great deals. The pricing was $149.99 for the KPC650 (with 2 year agreement), BUT they offered a $50 mail in rebate, to bring the cost down to $99.99
I checked with this site and they did offer the same price $149.99, however no rebates - so it seems that the rebate may be better. However, I looked at the conditions of the rebate and it said:

How the heck is that a rebate? They are just giving you $50 off if you buy another phone with another 2 years of service. I call that a coupon vs. a Rebate.
How many people are misled by rebates like this? How many don't read the fine print? The site was called LetsTalk.com
I told my neighbor that this is really the best place to buy, they have great support, and the pricing is pretty good too. |

Wow, that is misleading. According to the definition:

They are neither reducing the price or returning part of the money.
Any legal people have any comments?
