|
|
Is a device required to on the Sprint NATIVE footprint to activate (OTA) a 1xRTT or EVDO device?
I have heard this is a limitation with Verizon, and with Sprint's extensive roaming arrangement with Alltel, this would be a severe limitation. |

You must activate Sprint on a native Sprint network.
You must activate Verizon on a native Verizon network.
You must activate Alltel on a native Alltel network.
Currently, there is NO way around this. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| Just a quick note, you can activate Sprint devices in a 1xRTT area, but it MUST be native sprint 1xRTT coverage. So EVDO coverage isn't necessarily required to activate for Sprint. |

Oh yes there is. If you are using a phone that has previously been used on that network (or at least has the sprint, verizon, etc PRL) and if you know how to manually program the phone, then it absolutely can be activated while outside of the native area. |

We are talking about an EVDO data device and a device that has never been activated.
If you know the right people at Sprint, they can activate on their end, but it still requires that you be in a native Sprint area (1X or EVDO) in order to complete the activation. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |
