a adapter of some sort where you can plug the usb modem into one side and the output is a cat 5 cable so you can plug it into a cable or dsl router?

To do this you will need an EVDO router... a list of routers can be found using the following link.

I have already seen those, but I don't have the money to buy one of those. I was just wondering if there was such thing because I would be interested. I already have a normal wireless router and I don't want to buy another one

Short of a EVDO router, there is no way to get EVDO modem -> Ethernet

Only other option would be to leave the modem in one computer and use Internet Connection Sharing, to allow others on the network to have access.

That is what I was thinking about doing, ics to the router. I was just wondering if there was such a thing. I think it would be a great invention for those inventors out there. Wink

Ok, I think I came up with an idea, but I'm not sure if it will work.

What if you get one of these: http://www.vpi.us/cgi-bin/vpi/usbaf-usbaf.html it is a usb a female to a female. On one end you plug the modem into it, and on the other end you plug something like this: http://www.macmall.com/macmall/shop/detail.asp?Redir=1&description=Belkin-USB+10%2F100+Ethernet+Adapter-Network+Interface+Adapters&dpno=781314&store=macmall&source=mwbfroogle which uses the usb to access a wired ethernet connection. After you connect the a female to the usb modem and the other side of the a female to the ethernet adapter, then you plug an ethernet cable to the ethernet adapter and the other side of the ethernet cable into the router? I know it's confusing and it could work, but I don't think it could because something would have to dial it. Just an idea.

Nope... that wont work...

Not only does it not provide power, it does not know how to control, dial, etc

The only way to do something like this is have some type of computer, software to control the modem, and software to proxy the connection...

all of that is going to cost way more then it cost to buy a real EVDO router... (after research and development)

Go try to find a Cradlepoint router on Ebay... I'm sure you can find one cheaper... but if you can, I would buy from 3gstore.com as they will always be here to assist you when needed, etc.
