Apple MacBook vs Verizon UM150 Modem. disconnects after 5min

I have an apple macbook v10.5. installed a Pantech um150 USB Broadband modem. every time I connect with it - after exactly 00:05:41 it will disconnect. the error is "disconnected by remote host: (#266). VZW claims it is an issue with airport, however airport is not running when this happens..

anyone else had this problem?
please help

Are you using OS X built-in support or VZAccess Manager?

I am having the same problem... using VZ access And also in leopard
Verizon has been unable to help other than reset and say it must be my MBP
but we reinstalled ALL software and nothing changed
ANYBODY ?
