Hi folks,

I've searched the posts here and haven't found anything that applies in my situation, so I apologize if this seems redundant.

I have acquired a verizon um150 second-hand, after losing my original one. The problem is that this um150 comes registered under the previous owner's account and line number, so I cannot get online under my own number.

I've installed the VZAccess software and attempted to "activate" the device again. However, this fails. And I also see no place in the VZAccess software to reset the line information of the device, so I can activate from my number, or feed it a blank number.

This is puzzling to me because a few people have mentioned on the forums that they have managed to reset/re-activate the um150. I don't see how they are doing it!

Maybe I am missing something obvious.

Another possibility is if there is an AT command I can issue through the driver interface to reset the member, that would be something I could perform also. But I don't know what the commands are.

Anyone have any experience/suggestions on this issue?

Just make a simple phone call to Verizon Wireless and ask for an ESN swap... takes 5 mins.

Only reason they won't do this is... a) the device is still active under your friends account (b) it is reported stolen

You can also do the ESN swap yourself online at:

http://www.verizonwireless.com/myaccount

(If you have online access setup for your account)

Can someone tell me where the ESN changer is on Verizon's site? They seem to either have it buried somewhere or gave it some weird name because I can't find it.
