As most employees are clueless there appears to be a pattern here that might indicate some grandfathering of existing accounts prior to the July 13th change in the TOS and the placement of the 5 GB Cap.
From what I'm gathering is everyone who had an account prior to 7-13 like myself it still shows unlimited. I do not know what the new customers (post 7-13) on line accounts show though.
We obviously for obvious reasons should not just take this for granted. One time when I called to verify the CSR checked and said my account did not show unlimited in the system and said the reason it does on line was they had not update the on line features in the my account section.
1. New customers after 7-13...what does your on line account say as far as being unlimited or showing the cap?
2. For existing customers (before 7-13) has anyone's on line account been changed to reflect the cap and no longer unlimited?
I'm starting to wonder is all. Thanks.... Tony |

Your questions are good... but when did Sprint change their available connection card plan for new customers to the 5 gig amount?
By the time I looked at Sprint to see what plans were available (and it was after 7/13) the only plan being sold was the 5 gig for $60. So any accounts created after that would probably show the 5 gig amount.
"Probably" being the operative word.
While my account is older than that, and my billing says "unlimited", I still got the dreaded "courtesy call" to "educate me" so we could "start working toward the goal of reducing" my usage.
So maybe it says unlimited... but we still might get terminated. Ugh. |

Don't know how they are going to give me the "courtesy call," even though I'd be looking forward to it. The only device I have through them is my data card, my voice phone is through AT&T and Sprint doesn't have the number. |

| When I set my account up with 3Gstore in March of this year I used my cell phone as the account phone number and 2 days ago I got my "courtesy" call from Sprint on my cell phone. |

| fFredude I wouldn't assume that you are going to slip under the radar. They didn't grandfather me and my account was opened in March 2008. |

Mark,
I doubt I slipped under anything. Just trying to measure Sprint's inadequacies here. The fact they supposedly went with the cap 7-13 and my on line account still says unlimited AND the fact I just began a new billing cycle today and still shows unlimited. I doubt in all seriousness that it is truly unlimited. I also went through 3G on my account using my cell phone number. I have not received the so called courtesy call.
My paper bill shows unlimited just as my on line account does so they'd have a hard time holding me to the cap, canceling me and charging me ETF's when I have continuous written docs from them telling me I have unlimited. I got the so called vague notice everyone else got back when.
Just seeing what others have experienced is all. |

Sprint has made it very clear that pre-July data card holders are no longer unlimited regardless of what the bills or online accounts say. They have already given the "courtesy" call to some in this forum warning of imminent cancellation even though all our accounts still say unlimited.
I think the reason Sprint has not changed the wording is that it doesn't want to upset, or even inform, the bulk of its customer base of the change because the bulk of the base does not exceed 5 GB. While all new (post June08) customers are aware 5 GB cap, only the few pre-July Sprint data card holders, who follow forums like EVDOforums.com, Sprintusers.com, Buzzaboutwireless.com, etc., and the even fewer, who actually read the small print in their bills, know about the cap. The rest of the customer base is oblivious to it.
By not changing the "unlimited" wording for the pre July08 customers on bills and online accounts, Sprint has tried to slip the change in under the wire to avoid broader customer backlash. However, the T&Cs do apply to everyone once notified of the material change; not the wording on the account page - and that point is irrefutable in the T&Cs. _________________ Vista64 & EX720 |

Sprint is setting precedence and partaking in commercial deception for gain with the fact they are leaving the unlimited in on line bills and paper statements. Their TOS, so called courtesy calls are all fine and dandy, but does NOT take away from the blatant deception in terms of covertly trying to retain customers ect. They are well within their right to change the TOS and place the Cap, however they are entering territory they might have wished they didn't. Commercial deception can backlash on them big time. I think they're going to find that out before too long unless they cease and desist their blatant deception. |

Well, it looks like they may have a really hard time calling you to "educate" you and help you "move towards the 'goals' of getting to 5 gig"... eh? |

Do you work for Sprint. Because the amount of posts you make here about this cap are ridiculous. Are you trying to get people to cancel? Nobody has been terminated, right? |

No, he's being truthful and accurate. He's a customer like me, who is fired up about this. If Sprint loses customers over this, it's Sprint's fault, not some guy in a forum helping people cancel and avoid the $200 fee. Ebiz has helped numerous people get out of their contracts. It's called being helpful. That's what online communities such as this one are for. Ebiz's advice has cost Sprint at least a couple of thousand dollars worth of early termination fees. That would hardly benefit Sprint if he's an employee or representative of Sprint. |

Hmm, another Sprint mole??
If people can afford $60 a month for their service I can't imagine they are too worried about the ETF.
The both of you post way too much for my suspicion comfort level. The FACT is that nobody has been canceled but you two have scared dozens, maybe a lot more, into canceling.
I say Sprint moles!!
Just Shut Up and let the drama with Sprint play out. |
