A buddy of mine lives out of cable/dsl areas, and has been using the USB720 adapter for internet. He's been switching the USB720 back and forth from the desktop to laptop as needed, but it seems like there would be a simpler solution without having to subscribe to additional devices/services from Verizon.
I've decided to look into it for him, I see a few different options creating a network between wireless adapters(adhoc?), using a "patch cable", and getting a 3G router.
The adhoc seems to be a good way to go, however I think that is very limited as you can't connect additional devices?
The "patch cable" is not idea, as its wired.
The 3G routers are $120+ which is more than one should spend for a simple home network.
I already have a Wireless router that was used on cable internet, is there a way to hook this up using the computer with the USB720 as the "WAN"?
Basically, I need help deciding whats the most effective way to create a network for his house, while spending as little money as possible.
Thanks, alot! |
