This morning, 8/15, my "minutes" rolled over to the new billing cycle. Checked it this morning at 6 am. No usage. Checked again at 4pm. 855074 used. I used 4 gigs last month, 4.5 the month before. In ten hours I used a week's worth of data according to Sprint. Funny, except for a half an hour during lunch, and once to find an address on google earth, the laptop was powered off the entire time. When it was on, I checked my email, viewed a few web pages, NO downloads, whatsoever. Spent an hour on the phone with tech support. No help. Told me I should limit my usage or switch to the "unlimited data plan." They STILL don't have a clue! I explained to them I HAD the unlimited plan, but it's now limited to 5 gigs and I just used one fifth of that apparently with the laptop shut off most of the time during that period.
Anyhow, I got nowhere. Anyone else having similar issues with their "check usage" page? according to the software I have installed on my system, I haven't even hit 75 megabytes yet.
You know, it's bad enough to have to conform to this stupid cap, but when they do crap like this it's intolerable. |

HEY!!! You're doing GOOD!!!!
I installed SurplusMeter on my Mac and started running it the day before my bill cut.
I decided I'd try to be kinda careful and see how much usage I really need. First day I went way over, second day was better, and today I've been an angel. (sucks, but I'm getting it under control... lol)
Anyway... I started with a clean slate on the first day of the new billing cycle... and just compared notes with Sprint usage online just a few minutes ago - I'm on my 3rd day.
SurplusMeter has me using .8 Gig .. but Sprint has me down for using 2.9 already!!!
At the rate that Sprint is going, they will be able to shut all of us down for being over allocation at this rate. |

Mine has been pretty accurate up until now. When I checked it first thing in the morning, it was pretty close. I don't understand how they are going to penalize us when they can't even count data accurately. I played Slingo online during my lunch break, and I looked up 2 addresses on Google Earth, and watched a couple of 3 minute flash videos when I got up this morning....850 megabytes??? I don't think so!!! An email got this reply:
Dear Wayne,
Thank you for your reply.
As the invoice is under the process of generation, it is possible that
the usages is showing incorrectly. Please wait for the invoice to
generate and if there is any incorrect charges, write back to me and I
will be glad to assist you.
Thank you again for contacting us. We appreciate your business. Have a
great day.
Sincerely,
Ronald L
Sprint
I guess we'll see how much they appreciate my business, I'm not using any less than I normally do. I used a lousy 4 gigs last month, now this month I've used one in one day??? |

well today it's reporting my usage at 900 megabytes. My Bitmeter2 is reporting I've used 120 megabytes yesterday. I guess I only get 4 gigs this month, assuming I don't get charged with another 855 megabytes for playing Slingo for a half an hour again.
I really don't know how they are going to justify terminating people's service when they can't even accurately track the data usage. |

Just checked mine again.
Usage according to Sprint: 2.977 gigs
Usage according to SurplusMeter on my machine: 856.5 megs
I started to "behave" the day before my bill cut... so even if they cut my bill at some weird time of the day, I should still have closer numbers than this. |

Sprint has me down for a little over a gig now.
One day. I have downloaded NOTHING. Only viewed web pages. My bitmeter2 software is reporting 125 megabytes. |

Smelling another class action if Sprint is stupid enough to enforce any terminations... given their numbers are not even close to being real. I hope more people start tracking their usage and reporting back in here.
The results are going to take a while for people to start with a new billing cycle, etc. ... but I hope some will deduct where they are starting now (on Sprint's site) and start comparing to what they are now using. |

9/16
Sprint did it to me again!!! 866 megabytes on the first day! But this time, here's the thing....I've been layed over in Nashville all the entire day on the 15th, the day my usage meter rolls over, and my Sprint card has been in my laptop bag the entire time, I've been on a wi-fi connection. Somehow my card racked up over 3/4 of a gig and while it was not even inserted into my computer. |

Just checked mine. I'm on my 4th day and Sprint has me down for about 330 MB more than I've used according to my SurplusMeter.
The online "usage details" screen still shows me at "unlimited" remaining.
330 MB may not sound like much - but that is equivalent to two days of allowance if their 5 gig mentality kicks in anytime soon.
And for what it's worth, I didn't do any downloading or any other data-sucking activities during the last day or so of my billing period - just in case their clock for the month starts ticking at a different time that me. |

| I've used 300 megs in the last 2 days, they got me down for a little more than a gig. This is the second month in a row I started out at 860 megabytes instead of zero. I guess I only get 4 gigs a month. |
