Neither Sierra Wireless or Telus have any idea what this error is, despite a couple of months of talking to various senior tech support people. Sierra's Watcher software generates it. The message says:
Error 129. Unknown Error. Sign in failed. Please try again.
I am able to establish and maintain a connection most of the time, and this error happens when I'm connected (either active or dormant connection) and the signal seems to be strongest, and especially with the Wilson trucker antenna plugged in. It happens randomly (sometimes not at all one day, and as high as 5 times in 5 minutes, although averages about once an hour). It happens on 2 different laptops. Of course, it disconnects, and I've been able to work-around the problem a bit by turning on "Redial if line disconnects" in Windows XP for this connection, in addition to "Always on" in Watcher. I haven't tweaked any TCP settings.
I'd really like to get a Cradlepoint router for it, but I don't want to be resetting the router every time this happens.
Anybody know what this error means?
