Woodinville/Monroe, WA Sprint EVDO Live

Merlin S620, HP NC6000, No external antenna:

I picked up EVDO signal from the Rainbow market on Echo Lake road off of SR522 between Woodinville and Monroe, WA. Tested at 581kbps down, 57kbps up. Not bad for a -92db/2 bar signal.

The bummer is that the Sprint tower closest to my house is not yet upgraded to EVDO. I have a -88db/3-4 bar 1XRTT signal with bursts up to 140kbps down, 80kbps up. I am over 1 1/2 miles from the location where I picked up EVDO. I think Iwould have to work really hard to pick up EVDO even with a YAGI and amp.

Now I need to find out if they are going to upgrade my tower and when.

Arrgg, so close yet so far away.....

Have you tried anywhere else, like north toward Bothell or Lynnwood? I live off Bothell Everett and Maltby and have been holding off on getting a card until they cover this area. Any feedback would be appreciated.
