We can only hope: According to this article, they plan to deploy EV-DO in Cleveland for $70/month, $10/month less than Verizon's offering for mobile computers.

I posted this in the wrong topic (sorry), here is what I posted earlier.

ALLTell Wireless is a new player in the EVDO market. Today they annnounced, EVDO coverage in Tampa, Cleveland and Akro, Ohio.

The cost is $69.99 for unlimited EVDO usage. That is $10 cheaper than Verizon's EVDO (and the rumored price for Sprint's monthly unlimited as well).

They are using the new Kyocera Passport 1xEVDO PC Card.

Lets hope this is a start of a price war - then we all win!

Hi! Just found the EVDOForums, looking forward to participating on this site.

ALLTEL was the first carrier to launch EVDO behind Verizon, and they now have service commercially available in Tampa, Clearwater FLA, Cleveland, Akron OH, and Lansing MI. Look for many more to be added to the list on '05.

For the most up-to-date maps you might just want to link the following:
