Alltel has a "new" USB Rev A card that is Vista 64 bit compatible. Has anybody given it a try, yet? |

| I just got this card and I am very impressed with it. I have tried posting some links for speed test but It got flagged for spam, hopefully it will be approved soon. Ive got at a highest 1800 kbps. So far so good |

It sounds like the speed is up there. Are you using it on a Vista or Xp operating system and is it a 64 bit or 32 bit (x86) platform? I guess my next question is going to be concerning the compatibility of these air card with the various routers. Thanks for the reply. |

I am using vista 32bit, i do not have a router as of yet. Feel free to send me one to test , The people at the alltel store are really interested in its performance too. I will keep you up to date on any issues or pluses that come out of it. And again feel free to send a router |

haha. I had the UM150AL but had complications with it.....I guess I got lucky with that . If you are running the CDU-550 I HIGHLY recommend the upgrade. For me it was 219 for more then triple the speed....well worth it to me |

I just got my new Huawei EC228. I use to have a Cp680...something like that. Anyway, I have never had more than 650kps downloand and 100kps upload. (I live in the country a few miles from a sprint tower.)
I am running right now 1200-1300kps and 350-400kps. I am soooo happy!!!!!!!!! |

How do you get your Huawei EC228 to load up RA instead of DO? I just noticed that I don't get good numbers when it's in DO....
Anyone know how to tweak it so it always loads in RA? |

you have to be able to pick up a REV A signal
you can't just have REV A without being able to receive a signal |

Deb -- you said you were a few miles from a Sprint tower -- are you also in an area where Alltel has native service? If so, you may be bouncing between Sprint's Rev A service and Alltel's Rev 0 service.
Edited to change "Spring tower" to "Sprint tower."

I live in a rural area in Michigan and Alltel is the only network I can use. I stopped into the store and they told me the UM150 was outdated and recommended the Huawei EC228. I have been checking around online but cannot find a compatible mobile router. Anyone successfully use the EC228 with a mobile router yet ?
Thanks for your help ! |
