It took multiple phone calls to actually get through to a customer service agent, but I did get the rate lowered, and it should go into effect my next billing cycle.

I got my plan lowered with my existing data card and was concerned that I had to renew my contract. I checked online with my newest bill and my plan did change but I remained on the same contract. I called to confirm this and indeed I am still on the old contract. The fine print on this plan does state that corporate discounts do not apply with this 59.99 unlimited but I was very happy that I am getting my 25% corporate discount per my most recent bills making it a sweet $45 per month for unlimited EV-DO.

Very cool! I've checked online and still see my "old" ($80) plan - new one doesn't take effect until my next billing cycle (keeping fingers crossed). The rep said it would show up online, but I don't see anything but current plan. Also, how could you tell online that your contract had not been extended? I don't see anywhere that it tells me the remaining time on my contract, when it started/expired or whatever.

You can check contract expiration date when you log in to your account via sprint.com. Just go to your data card's phone number and click on my plan details. You should then see the expiration of your contract.

I just tried that... couldn't find an expiration anywhere... just the price and what was included in the plan.

Well, I spent about an hour on the phone with Sprint yesterday. I accomplished about nothing. The first rep could not even find ANY unlimted data plan for 60 a month.

The second rep had the same troubles. He wanted me to fax the flyer to him and gave me a fax number that didnt work. However, he said his manager would call me with a working number....no call yet.

I will just keep calling until I get an answer.

Seems like there are not many reps that even know what the deal is with evdo. Seem slike they have no clue.

I had to call Sprint anyways due to a billing error; they initially sent me the wrong EVDO card and refunded me $100 too little after I sent it back in after getting the correct one. After they fixed that I asked for the $59.99 plan. I'm on a corporate line of service (just a single EVDO line on the account, no voice services or any other Sprint products since it's just for my small business.) The rep I talked to gave it to me with no problems and said it'd be active at the start of my next billing cycle.

At least in Raleigh, NC, it seems like the customer service reps at the Sprint stores know more about the Wireless Data options than the ones when you call in. To update my plan to $60, I had to call over a dozen times to get through, and then was transferred multiple times before someone understood what I was asking for.

The store CS reps also had unofficial info that Raleigh EVDO should be turned on by the end of the month, which is ahead of the rumored December deployment.

In RMS (Sprint Store system), P2K, Wizard and Premier the code for the promo deal is #C MBU EVDO Plan=$59.99 a rep will find it then. #B is for business customers, #C is for regular customers, #G is for government workers.

Sprint is rushing EVDO cuz ESPN Mobile is launching there service thru Sprint as an MVNO. Big money here.

Use the full code syntax: #C MBU EVDO Plan=$59.99.... And yes a Sprint store can set you up as well....This is how I had set up my EVDO account was thru a store cuz *2 didn't have a clue on how to do it at the time.... Go figure.... Shocked

Well, I swung by a store in El Paso and rapped with the rep....

We looked at my plan and my code was the #C MBU EVDO Plan - 79.99 and I am on a business account. Well, after about 30 minutes of her hunting and pecking at the keyboard she seems to have gotten me on the 59.99 plan. She was affraid to do this mid month so she said she set it to go into effect Nov 1. So, we shall see.....i hope she hit the right buttons....

And I helped my buddy out to! I told her my friends Sprint number (he has voice and data card) so I figured he was getting the 59.99 plan and she could go from there. Turns out he was on the 80.00 plan. So, my buddy called Sprint and got his where it was supposed to be!

SL10 thanks for all the advice...hope this works!

You're welcome... If the rep did the codes right on Nov. 1 you will see it on your account page at Sprint.com...
