I'm on an extended trip of several weeks across the southeast states and thought I'd post my speeds periodically.
Using a laptop with Win XP and a KPC680 with no router.
In Spartanburg, S.C. today.
Pinging www.google.com in command prompt I'm averaging 182ms today. |

Nice -- are you keeping track of your locations? You'd have a nice data set to post on the EVDO map someday -- as Alex said:
| Quote: | | OR maybe the people who own/host evdomaps.com are going to have reason to change it and include alltel as a carrier soon. |

Yup. I am. Hopefully that "someday" will be sooner rather than later........Alex? Any further encrypted (or unencrypted) subliminal messages?

Thought I would add mine here instead of starting a new thread.
Eaton, Ohio; I-70 exit 10
Also using only a laptop, XP & a PC5750 data card.

That's cool Graphic. I think it'd be way cool for everyone to post their Alltel speeds and see what we see. Be sure to post OS, data device, and location. might be interesting.
I'm currently in a little town called Liberty, SC and on my PPC6800 I'm getting about 700kbps down and 80 up. Don't have the laptop out right now. |

I have and the speeds are OK but the phone's processor appears to be the bottleneck. Side by side comparison between the PPC6800 and the KPC680 the card is much faster. Even running the wifi via the router on a 10m cable connection the best I've ever seen is about 1.5m down. I need mh phone way too much to try it too often though.
All in all I have a love hate relationship with this phone!!!! |

Dave, how fast with the Mogul?
I am thinking of dumping my ATT phone & getting a Mogul & tethering to my laptop instead of my PC5750. _________________ GraphicWonders |

Here's with my KPC680 data card.
Using Opera on the PPC6800 my dls are in the 400 to 700 range. Never tested the uls.
Here's my laptop tethered to the PPC6800.
I'm thinking the data card is better. You? |

I'm in Fingerville, SC right now which is in north Spartanburg county and can't believe I'm riding down the road with nothing but kudzu as far as the eye can see with these speeds.
Last time I was here this was not the case. Pretty cool me thinks! |
