you probably caught Sprint doing pilot testing for Midland-Odessa.
Hopefully so...i been waiting seems like FOREVER for EVDO to hit West Texas. On the Sprint coverage maps, the entire left side of Texas is blank for EVDO. |

| I roam to Alltel EVDO from Ranger Texas back towards Van Horn on I-20. I set my card to roam automatically and EVDO signals only. If you set network mode to automatic it will roam to Sprint RTT as the preffered mode. I have also noticed if I force the card to roam only Sprint, it will roam over to the Alltel EVDO network. |

So, if i set my sprint card to auto roam & EVDO only, as listed above, two questions:
* will i possibly roam to a carrier for which i'll be charged extra fees ?
* does Alltel have a deal going w/sprint so i don't get charged extra, in case i rollover to Alltel ? |

| Data roaming is free. The only EVDO roaming you'll do is with Alltel. All other data roaming is 1xrtt. |

Been using it in the Corpus Christi region at REV.A speeds.
Laredo only has RTT, a major disappointment for it is a major transport hub to and from Mexico. |
