No problems noted, yet. The Permission Repair took an awful long time, again. Was hoping Apple would address that issue.

Filemaker Pro no longer hangs on opening when the EVDO connection is active.

Following the 10.5.2 software update on my MacBook Pro with a Sprint Novatel 720 connection card, I no longer have the icons on the top right of my screen, such as the time, sound, etc.

When I disconnect the card and pull it out of the express card slot, all the icons return.

Sprint tech support had no answer...saying it was an Apple responsibility. And of course, Apple says just be patient...perhaps they will have another update for it, or maybe Sprint will.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Works ok for me.

A few repairs are in order after any software update.

First repair permissions and this may take a while with Leopard so be patient.

Drag from your user:library:prefence folder com.apple.finder.plist to your desktop before restarting. You can trash this after the restart.

Next reboot and hold down Command+S. Don't freak...

At the bottom of the text it tells you how to fsck, type that in.

When done type Reboot.

Sometimes running Cocktail to delete the logs, fix stuff, etc. helps.

I've had the same issue with losing my right menu items. The problem is the same with the icons disappearing when the 720 is plugged in and reappearing when it is removed. I've tried permission repairs, etc with no success.

Any other folks having this problem?[/u]

I installed my EX720 last night and I must say, IT JUST WORKS.

The reception in my area is mediocre at best and the cheesy AT-8A antenna only marginally helps. The antenna also blocks the MBPs headphone port — stellar design there — and it comes with a couple of 5 cent stick on suction cups for it's pathetically inadequate "base" that looks as though they were thrown into the package as an afterthought. There has to be a better antenna out there than this.

Despite these complaints though, I'm thrilled. You have to love it when the card is setup and connected in under 10 seconds. The EX720 is obviously a very capable device and is well worth the cost. Kudos to 3G Store for the good service for Mac users!

My only question is should I use the Leopard driver or the one on the CD?

Stick with the Leopard drivers. The CD is really for those running 10.4x. Take a look at the PDF that is on the CD that we included, that may show you some tips and tricks for the built-in Apple drivers that you are using.

If you are having issues with the antenna, drop an email to support @ 3gstore, they can help. If you are in a strong signal area, an antenna may not help much at all. If you travel to an area that is fairly weak - it actually can make a big difference. There is a 14 day return policy, so if you are not happy, let us know.

BTW, thanks for the comments, we will update the CD for Leopard users, so it is not confusing.

10.5.2 and the lastest Sprint Update under Boot Camp are working just fine.

Last night monster storm which seems to dinged Sprint. 999 ms but back to under 150 now.

can someone help me setup my ethernet connection settings.

I'm using a v740 with upgraded vzaccess software.

I'm trying share my broadband connection via ethernet cable, but i think i need to do some configuring first because I don't see the option for ethernet when go to the internet sharing menu. In the configure box do I set it to DHCP with manual address, full manual, or just using DHCP?

What IP, sub, and gateway should I be using?

Sorry if this sounds confusing.

everything was working fine before I upgraded vzaccess.

Ok I tried to ask this in another forum but for some reason my post was denied.

I have an EX720, MacBook Pro 4GB RAM, OS X 10.5.2.

I cannot connect to the URL of one particular site - canada.com. I can connect to the IP address but not the URL.

I called Sprint support and once they found out I wasn't running Windows they basically blew me off by saying that it's an Apple issue related to the DNS cache. I KNOW this is complete baloney because I have never been able to connect to the URL for this site through the Sprint network.

Anyway, I deleted the DNS cache (dscacheutil -flushcache) and did a cachedump just to make sure - zero records. I STILL can't connect via the URL.

Does anybody have any ideas what's up? I couldn't even get "Mary" at Sprint to verify the DNS server addresses so I don't know if they are correct. My initial setup was done by the fine folks at the 3Gstore.

Thanks for any help.

try changing to OpenDNS servers, and see if that helps.

Thanks Alex, I actually thought of that and added those servers to the list, but I can't actually delete the old ones in there (68.28.50.91, 92) because they are greyed out and show up at the top of the list as soon as I connect.

Any ideas how to get rid of them? I guess they are picked up from the router?

Yes I can edit while not connected, but as soon as I connect the grey out DNS servers appear again.

I actually made a new connection service and added the new DNS servers but the greyed out ones still show up when i connect.

I'm reluctant to call Sprint because after this experience this morning I realize that they simply can't support Macs at all.
