you are most welcome. that version should be both UM150 and ethernet-as-LAN enabler.

Exactly what I have been waiting for. Thanks for making it available as soon as you did. It came just in time. Looks like a little off time for Christmas will be filled with, not only friends and family, but a little reworking of my network.

3gstore apparently has an agreement not to distribute it to anyone but their customers, full stop.

The driver is apparently a beta, and when released I'd guess it will be available to all customers.

In the meantime, the Cradlepoint folks are probably the best ones to contact.

This new firmware is awesome! Very Happy

This provides an EASY backup broadband connection should your cable (or other high speed broadband connection) go down at home or at the office. I was able to simply plug connect the CTR350's Ethernet port to the WAN port of my ASUS router at home, rebooted the ASUS router, and was good to go. The CTR350 automatically provided a WAN IP address to the ASUS router within its DHCP range. No further reconfiguration of my existing home network was necessary! (Edit: I just realized that I would lose automatic dynamic DNS configuration provided by the ASUS router because its WAN address is now a private IP address within the CTR350's IP address range -- I will have to think about the best way to solve this one. Wink

)

One hint to anyone that has enabled MAC filtering on the CTR350 -- MAC filtering now applies to the wired connection as well as wireless connections. When using the Ethernet port as LAN, one needs to either add the MAC address of the wired device (whether a computer or another router) to the MAC address list or disable MAC filtering.

OK, a question from the "slow" guy.

I'm used to a cable modem so am trying to get used to EVDO. It's a painful change but a necessary one since I no longer live in an area that allows for cable/DSL.

I had my cable modem provide the input to my Linksys WRT54GX router. This in turn provided service to my desktop via ethernet as well as my laptop and home theater computer via wireless. All were capable of connecting to each other via an internal home network so files/printers could be shared amongst them.

I now use the Sierra 595U for my connection. It seems that the new firmware makes the Cradlepoint a worthwhile investment. That being said, would I still utilize the WRT54GX or will full internal networking be available with the cradlepoint? I figure I could use the LAN output of the cradlepoint to feed the WRT54GX (in the same way as the output from a cable modem) and then allow the remaining wireless devices to get their feed from it.

If any of this made sense, please respond with your suggestions. I am still in the process of acquiring the necessary parts to create an antenna via dishnetwork dish to up my signal.

So much to do and nowhere near enough time........

Plugging the cradlepoint into your router should work just fine. The linksys should get an ip from the cradlepoint and then you would have internet just like with your cable modem.

I just upgraded to the new firmware, but after uploading the settings/configuration file to put all of my settings back the way they were before the upgrade, I can't connect to the router anymore. It shows up with the SSID that I created, but when I try to connect it tells me it cannot do so (Mac).

Any ideas? I don't want to have to change the password since it is already saved on many machines here in my office.

Hard reset the CTR and then reset the passwords to what you want them to be.

Firmwares touch all kinds of settings and when your flash your CTR, it tells you it's going to change a bunch of settings and you may need to backup/restore your configuration.

Will I be able to use the CTR350 with an ethernet cable to my main desktop and then let my other two home computers use their wireless capabilities to pick up the V. wireless USB727/CTR350 through their wireless capabilities (a hotspot?) If so, is it wise to use both options or is it better to stay all wireless?

OK. Can someone help this idiot? I've pulled out my last hair.

I received my CTR350 today. Yes, I had to have it delivered on Saturday, I couldn't wait! But I'm having problems. I'll try to keep it short.

Air card 595U
CTR350
Linksys WRT54G router/WAP

I have only been able to get online with the 350 for a few short minutes. If I do not plug the air card into the 350, I can access the 350 via internet explorer. As soon as I plug in the air card, the USB light comes on and then the USB and WLAN light go off, then back on, then off, and on and off and on. Internet connection icon on the computers also indicate connected then not connected. Also, I have trouble logging on to the 350 via explorer (connection timed out, network not available, etc). If I unplug the air card, WLAN and WAN lights stay on and I can access the 350 again.

2 times it actually connected and stayed connected for about 10 minutes (I'm guessing).

I have DHCP enabled on the 350 and disabled on the Linksys. However, I had the best luck when I automatically configured the computers for static ip rather than automatic.

I seem to be reading conflicting reports about how the 350 can be connected to another router. I read one post that stated you can go from the ethernet port on the 350 to the WAN port on the Linksys. This doesn't work for me. Also, if I connect that way, I can't access the 350 on 192.168.0.1.

Any suggestions? Did I leave something out?
