Tech1 you out there?
I would like to know if you are using the ex720 in the novatel adapter. If so, how stable is it?
Thanks! |

I followed the instructions posted by evdowizard
http://www.evdoforums.com/thread6621.html
No I am not using the Novatel adapter but I assume it works the same as the Siig adapter. It worked great from the 1st flash. But I forgot my password and had to reflash several times to get it back to "rock steady" performance. I had to use the "bricked" method of flashing after pressing the reset button. The unit lost the info I had input but not the pw lol! I am sure the flash got corrupted early on in the process but after reflashing back to linksys then to OpenWrt. it works fine great uploads and downloads.
I used this forum exstensively to trouble shoot my issuse and found the answers here.
Best of luck! |

My Cellular Device Management Support (CDMS) group here at work just informed me (quote):
"Sprint just sent a .zip file that is supposed to fix the EX720 card support in the WRT54G3G-ST"
They are forwarding it to me to try out. I'll let everyone here know how/if it works. _________________ John |

Sprint is working on a software update that will allow the router support for the EX720 and 597E. A source tells me the code is ready and should be available in just a few days.

Please let Roy, Dave, and Joan know that they should not divulge proprietary information. It does more harm than good.

Yeah, it works!
I uploaded the new software to the WRT54G3G-ST router and it now works with my EX720 card.
The software version I used is WRT54G3G-ST_2.01.12 _________________ John |

| Firmware 2.01.12 1/31/2008 says it supports the EX720 and the sierra Wireless AC597E with adapters. I'm going to give it a try as soon as I get home tomorrow night. |

Just tested a Sprint Novatel EX720 and Sierra AirCard 597E and they NOW WORK in the WRT54G3G-ST with the Novatel ExpressCard Adatper.
We will write more about it on EVDOinfo.com tomorrow.
New features include:
| Quote: | II. NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENT
1. New Data Card support. WRT54G3G-ST now supports the following new ex-
press data cards (with adaptor):
a. Sierra Wireless AC597E
b. Option Express EX720
2. Improve 3G uplink throughput. Update data card serial driver and modify
multi-buffer mechanism for uplink throughput. The EVDO uplink throughput
is no longer limited to approximately 300 kbps when the network is capable
for higher rate.
3. Update new daylight saving time for US and Canada. The start date for
day-
light saving time is changed to start at second Sunday in March.
4. Add Modem backup. Enable modem backup feature as option. The 3G data
card can be the backup for the WAN connection. 3G IP can be connected
when the wired WAN connection is down. |

josw, thanks for the link. When was it posted on their page? I could have sworn I looked online last week during my normal Linksys driver update hunt, but I suppose I could have missed it. _________________ --Larry |

Yes go to home page, tech support, and then router type. |
