this is before upgrade
this is after I have not moved the computer or anything. a slight difference I would say would be normal fluctuation but this is a pretty big difference.
Still playing with everything else and u can also still ##data tune. of course I have not found where i wrote my msl code ...lol I am also letting it manage my wifi which seem's to work pretty good. _________________ Peace

Using S720 card sprint unlimited broadband with S720 plugged into an adapter card on a 3 gig CPU PC. XP Pro, no byte mobile installed.
Installed CSM 1.03.0020.1 with no problems. The new screen is informative with, both signal bars and -dbm showing
as well as up and down speeds. Tool bar at the top with enough options to get all but the most experienced in trouble.<G>
Signal strength -72dbm on both the old and new SCM.
I favor the new CSM as it gives much more info even tho much is gibberish to me. Sorry I am not able to post the snapshot of the screen as that feature has eluded me so far on this forum.
Both old and new CSM download speeds in the 1200 to 1300 kbps range |

I'm not able to get the new SCM to work on either Vista or XP. I have an S720 card.
The software installed fine and it runs and sees the card, but if I click on Connect, it does nothing. If I switch to NDIS, it might connect but then immediately disconnects.
Same behavior on XP and Vista.
It left the old version of SCM still installed and if I use that instead, everything is cool. I wonder if the old version needs to be removed for the new version to work? |

Look in ur start up and see if the old one is still there. I uninstalled mine and it didn't work at first and found the one in start up that was still connecting. Got rid of that and no problems now. _________________ Peace

Both versions still installed here and the new version works fine but did not think of trying the old one and have now gone back to router operation which does not give me the option of choosing |

Sucess w U720. I used this procedure:
http://www.overclock.net/faqs/73237-how-remove-unused-devices-my-windows.html
to clear up all the crap (modems, network connections) left from previous installs of SCM, and deleted the old "Novatel Wireless" directory inside "Program Files" before installing the new SCM.
Speeds seem pretty much the same, but those are some wierd looking HA's... anybody shed light on them? Also, when I run a speedtest.net speed test, I've seen recommended servers from FL to MI. With the old SCM it was always Chicago or Cincy... very strange.

| I'm curious, would the Franklin CDU680 have the new connection manager GUI as well? |

I downloaded an installed it (bytemobile too)...I was pleased to say the least; nice GUI, bytemobile customization, and lots of new features here and there.
system: Windows XP SP2
card: S720
I was able to get close to my old speeds back again, and I also got a whopping 600k upload speed (can't get over 450k in my router). |

[quote="Michael"]Sprint has finally released a new connection manager for ALL the rest of the Sprint Mobile Broadband Cards.
Here is my complete "normal" setup. S720 card plugged into the 54g Linksys wireless router and two computers with wireless cards installed.
Installed the 1.03.0020.0 connection manager with the S720 installed in one of the computers(using a PCMCIA adapter) and installation went well (XP Pro) no bytemobile installed.
finished the installation and went back to the "normal" set up with S720 plugged into the router. Brought up the new CSM and noticed a wifi tab cliked that and it connected my wireless card to the 54g wireless router. The new CSM has so many options available that I am waiting for some of the "big boys" to lead the way, I am in way over my head !!!
I like the 1.03.0020.0 CSM initial screen showing down/up speeds (readings seem high), -dbm and bar signal strength. Tabs for "mobile", "WIFI" and VPN. The tool bar across the top will take some time to learn as there so much info available in drop down windows. |

Success here.
installed bytemoble. had no problems installing. I manually uninstalled old scm and deleted network connections that dealt with it.
i just did a test and well...uhm check it out.
super upload bittorrent king? my upload prior to the upgrade was always around 50-60kb\s its probably bytemoble interference... _________________ U720-sprint-XP |

I do not see anything showing down and up speed? I see something that is keeping track of how much data is downloaded and uploaded and then the total of both download and upload under those. _________________ Peace

Sprint needs to pull this. While it may work, you'd need to know to remove the old SCM and might have to manually remove network connections. The installer should do this for you or at least force you to uninstall the old SCM first before allowing the new one to install
At least if you still have the old SCM is installed, it will still work, so you're not dead in the water. |

| Failure. I tried the newest version with bytemoble installed and uninstalled. While it does work, after awhile I would have to disconnect and reconnect for my internet to work. For some reason I could not browse after a short period of time being connected. After I reconnect everything would work again. I thought it might be the bytemoble, so I uninstalled the bytemoble, but I had the same problem. I am now using the previous version. |
