I am in the process of upgrading the firmware on the Merlin S620 now. If this allows disabling 1xRTT - this will be great news - it will solve the ping pong effect of not being able to keep an connection.
If you have a KR1 + KPC650, the only way to upgrade the PRL is to stick the KPC650 in a Windows laptop or PowerBook 15 or PowerBook 17 inch. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Thanks for the reply.
With the nice interface the KR1 has using a web browser, and considering the the KR1 was designed for a PC card, maybe Kyocera would kindly consider building in a way to update the PRLs from within the KR1 Admin/User tools.
In fact, whatever PC Card parameters are user definable with software such as VZAccess, really could be accessible through the KR1, it seems.
Can this suggestion be passed onto to them?
By the way, my KR1 and KPC650 were plug-and-play! Its a beautiful thing. I've been waiting for a long time for exactly this solution. Now if only Verizon will bump our cell tower up to broadband speeds we'll be good. When network traffic is low to moderate my web pages are loading better than twice as fast as dialup. That may not seem like much, but it means that my evening email sessions have gone from one hour to about thirty-five minutes per evening, saving me an easy two and a half to three hours of time per week.
Thanks Booster-Antenna and thanks to Kyocera.
