Can someone help me to configure my Sierra 875U w/at&t to work w/mb6800. The router recognizes my card but cannot connect to internet. I have tried Top Global support but cannot get a reply via email or phone. |

| Have you set the username and password to the ones specified for Cingular in the manual? I had that problem at first and am using the 875U just fine - make sure you are using it through a powered hub though, as per other posts in this forum. |

| Thanks for the reply. I do have the username & password entered for Cingular customers like in user guide. Those are the only inputs I made into the configuration though. Do you know of any other entries that need to be input? Like in the modem field it ask for an initializing string, I don't know what this is. I got a power hub w/router. Thanks again. |

| Thanks! Yes I do have my phone number input but what about the initializing string right under where your phone number is input, is this required? I also have connect mode as auto. In the user guide on the CD, Fig. 3-22 on page 34 shows some parameters to be used for our type card. Do you know if these are required? They do not show up in my configuration page. |

Not at home right now so can't check router settings, but one other thing I noticed is that the card must be plugged into the first slot on the USB hub - if it's not in the first one, it won't work. Have you tried moving it to different hub slots, and made sure it's in the first one, and then rebooted the router?
Does the third light from the left, indicating the WAN card, appear to be off, lit green or lit red? (It will be red if no WAN card is detected, green if it's connected and off if a WAN card is detected but not connected.)
Also, have you activated the card using the AT&T software with your PC before trying to use it with the router? Can you connect from the PC directly? |

| Yes, I have the card in the #1 slot on the hub. The third light from left, labeled 3G just keeps flashing green, booklet says this means card is trying to connect. I can leave it plugged in for hours & it justs keeps flashing green like its trying to connect but can't. I have been using my 875u on my laptop and PC since June. |

| Oh, and what ROM version are you using? The first one I got wouldn't connect, and the next one worked fine. |

I really do not know what ROM version means so I can't answer that. Can you explain?
I have checked the diag. logs for the 875U. There are no error messages or anything like that. |

| From the "Home" screen, in the 3rd row down of the table labeled "Basic Information", there is a row entitled "Firmware Version" - what does it say in the next column? |

| Firmware version says v1.1.2-5. I downloaded this from Top Global website. Is this right or do I need to look for a different version. Thanks again for your help, I resubmitted emails to Top Global support & continue to get no response. |

| Hmmm, same version as me. Can you post your MB6800 diagnostic log? What exact phone #, user id & pw are you using? Have you tried resetting to manual connect mode & connecting manually from the interface screen? |

I have not looked at the diagnostic log for the router. I will look for that & try to connect manually after this posting & get back to you.
The phone # I input is the # that Cingular gave me w/ device. 336-675-68--.
I input isp@cingulargprs.com as user id
cingular1 as pw
I tried these in all caps like the user guide shows & in lower case. Do not know if it is caps sensitive, won't connect either way. |

Try:
Phone number *99#
UID: ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
PW: CINGULAR1
Not sure about case sensitivity, but the phone number thing alone might be it. |
